As a first time buyer, finding a decent surveyor who does a "proper job" is quite a daunting process. Right from the start I was reassured by Charterhouse's professionalism and how they clearly explained and outlined the process. I've ended up using Charterhouse twice, on one occasion where the detailed and thorough report made me realise that it was too big of a project for me, and on the second occasion I was provided reassurance that there were no hidden problems. The report contained a thorough appraisal of the property with a clear list of work needed to bring it up to standard, with lots of information and photographs which helped me quickly get quotes and budget for the required works. Would 100% recommend Dr Walsh and Mr Simpson's work and will definitely use their services again in the future.

We used Charterhouse to carry out a Level 3 survey on a property we were considering purchasing. The survey was extremely detailed, with clear photographs throughout that helped explain the findings.
After receiving the report, we had several follow-up questions, and Jake was very generous with his time, talking us through the survey and explaining the key issues in more detail.
Ultimately, the survey led us to decide not to proceed with the purchase. Looking back, that was absolutely the right decision. Without such a thorough survey, we could easily have bought the property only to discover these issues after moving in, which would have been far more costly and stressful.
We were very impressed with both the quality of the survey and the excellent follow-up support. When we find our next house we will be sure to use them again

The survey carried out by Jake was conducted extremely quickly after we’d booked, and covered a staggering amount of detail. CharterHouse Surveyors were really easy to work with and they organised a survey really quickly at a good competitive price. From initial contact through to completion of the survey and then discussing questions arising from the report, this was a very good experience. Both Gerard and Jake are excellent to deal with. This is our 3rd time using Charterhouse and wouldnt go anywhere else. Jake carried out a survey for us on an extensive property we were buying. We were honestly blown away by the level of detail, knowledge and advice contained in the report. The report enabled us to establish where additional checks were required, bringing our attention to additional documentation, warranties, etc, we should be requesting( stuff that's vital but beyond the remit of a solicitor). Jake completed an in depth level 3 survey on the property we were purchasing. The turn around was quick and the communication was excellent. He called to explain what he found, and when I asked what certain terms meant, he was able to provide me with simple explanations.
