We are often instructed by clients to complete inspections on issues identified by a valuation surveyor working on behalf of mortgage lenders.
A specific/general structural inspection can provide a more cost-effective investigation than the Full Building (Structural) Survey.
Specific Structural Inspection (SSI)
An SSI is an investigation of a single structural issue or element of the property and can be focused on issues such as:
- Structural movement;
- Dampness and/or condensation;
- Roofing defects.
General Structural Inspection (GSI)
A GSI examines all structural elements of the property such as floors, walls, ceilings, roof and foundations where visible.
The completed report provides an analysis of the structural defects, appropriate repair works if required and/or suggestions for specific further investigation.
